Hutch revival
This handcrafted hutch
(made by the homeowner)
provided great storage, but
the wood tone was a bit
dark for the new space.
Stephen painted it creamy
white to match the beaded
board. “You could fill the
hutch with books to
completely change the
look,” Stephen says.
SHELVED
White, blue, and yellow
dishware reinforces
the bright new color
scheme. The hutch’s
open shelves make a
practical display.
MAGIC CUPBOARD
Closed doors hide
extra dishes and table
linens. If you don’t have
a hutch, Stephen
suggests repurposing
an old dresser.
CHOICE OF CHAIRS
Your choice of dining
chair can change the room’s mood.
Stephen chose oatmeal-col or ones for
their country touch, but loves the modern
twist the metal version adds. Cushioned
